Ready for 2019 Tech: Upcoming Tech This Year

Everyone is excited about this years Tech. It seems there is a lot of highly anticipated tech that we are all looking forward to. So this article about the new tech that we hope will happen in 2019 all in one place. This TechFriday lets get it on.

No 1. Samsung Galaxy S10

In 2018 the mission for the smartphone industry was to go all screen (bezel less) and also avoid the notch, that’s why we got this mechanical designs like popup cameras and sliders. In 2019 it’s going to be a lot more than that.

Samsung has a lot of hype for the Galaxy S10, because it looks like they are basically going to be the one manufacture that in their flagship devices has managed to keep the headphone jack and avoid the notch through 2018 and 2019. The way they’ll do it is with this hole punched out display which they call the “infinity o display”, where they’ll place the front facing camera. Generally smartphone innovation on galaxy s10 is really exciting.

Samsung has announced the date of its next Unpacked event, at which it’s widely expected to announce the latest Galaxy S flagship phones. The event will be happening on February 20th. Samsung notes that 2019 marks the 10th anniversary of the Galaxy series, and the invitation prominently features the number 10.

According to a report, Samsung will show off a “fully functional” version of its long-in-development foldable phone, as well as the rumored three variants of the Galaxy S10. A higher-end fourth model with 5G connectivity is set to be launched later this year.

No 2. The New iPhone

It might seem early in the year, but die-hard Apple enthusiasts are already looking forward to 2019’s new iPhone’s. Digit has what is reported to be a first look at the next iPhone model, which for now is being referred to as the iPhone XI. Personally Digit got the design extremely wrong there is no way Apple can design something like that, I mean that could be the death of Apple sleekest and sexiest designs. Look at the iPhone X, XS, XR, and XS Max designs and compare them to the render of the XI.

iPad Pro 2018

Enough with the the design lets talk about this big upgrade year. iPhone XI is pretty promising, this is because of the new iPad Pro. Personally it was the most legit tech introduced in 2018. Am hoping maybe Apple will put a USB Type-C port in the new iPhone for fast charging like they did on the iPad. There is a lot of things we saw on the iPad that we want on the next iPhone like the 6GB RAM.

Royole FlexPai

No 3. Foldable SmartPhones

The Royole FlexPai was the first fully flexible smartphone in the world. It has the potential to be a truly innovative device that could shape the future of smartphones. However, it’s also an early version of this exciting tech, which means it’s rough around the (flexible) edges. It’s certainly given us an exciting glimpse of how smartphones with bendable screens will work, and the technology could be as groundbreaking as the HTC Vive or the original iPhone.

Samsung Galaxy X

This year Samsung revealed something huge, something that could rival the Royale FlexiPai: its first foldable screen, the Samsung Galaxy X – or Samsung Galaxy F or Samsung Galaxy Flex as it might be called, which opens clamshell-style and flattens out for a tablet-size display. The Infinity Flex Display, as the tech is called, is an entirely new direction for Samsung smartphones that required development of new materials and processes to make it functional.

Update: A source claims the Samsung Galaxy X could have two batteries for a total capacity of 6,200mAh.

Samsung Galaxy X

What’s less clear is whether we saw the Infinity Flex Display mounted on the Galaxy X itself, or whether that was simply a placeholder phone to show off the screen. Samsung literally revealed it from the shadows to hide the design.

No 4. The Mac Pro

For those Music Producers, Video Editors, 3D Artists or those who used to love the Mac Pro, but they’ve given up on it due to the long overdo upgrade, don’t give up just yet because Apple has promised to release a New Mac Pro this year. They’ve promised a full size, real modular, desktop Mac Pro, more like a Gaming Machine, and yes I know, it would be awesome if Apple finally made a Gaming Machine.

A lot of years have passed without an update to the Mac Pro, but a new machine is on the horizon. In April 2017 Apple broke its silence and discussed the Pro’s future with a small group of journalists, first apologizing for the lack of updates and then acknowledging that the trashcan design didn’t work out the way they had hoped. The triangular structure that hides inside the cylinder was designed with the thermal requirements of twin-GPU setups in mind, but the industry went in a different direction; most pro users prefer to use a single more powerful GPU, something that the Mac Pro cannot cope with. And so the machine ended up being very difficult to upgrade.

Then in April 2018 Apple revealed even more about the radical redesign of its Mac Pro line. However, the company confirmed that we won’t be seeing the new Mac Pro until this year.

Let me know in the comments below which tech in this article are you most excited about, for me personally is the Samsung Galaxy S10 and maybe the Mac Pro.
